Chlorobiales Gibbons and Murray 1978, ordo. (Type order of the class ¤ Chlorobea Cavalier-Smith 2002).
Type genus: ¤ Chlorobium Nadson 1906 (Approved Lists 1980).
Etymology: N.L. neut. n. Chlorobium, type genus of the order; suff. -ales, ending denoting an order; N.L. fem. pl. n. Chlorobiales, the Chlorobium order.
