Castellaniella Kämpfer et al. 2006, gen. nov.
Type species: ¤ Castellaniella defragrans (Foss et al. 1998) Kämpfer et al. 2006.
Etymology: N.L. fem. dim. n. Castellaniella, named after Sir Aldo Castellani, a British-Italian bacteriologist, who first described the bacterial genus Alcaligenes in 1919.

Etymology: N.L. fem. adj. daejeonensis, of or pertaining to Daejeon, a city in South Korea, from where the type strain was isolated.
