Etymology: N.L. fem. dim. n. Bermanella, named after the aquatic microbial ecologist Dr Tom Berman.

Etymology: L. n. mare, sea; L. adj. ruber -bra -brum, red; N.L. gen. n. marisrubri, of the Red Sea.
