Type genus: ¤ Bacteriovorax Baer et al. 2000.
Etymology: N.L. masc. n. Bacteriovorax, type genus of the family; suff. -aceae, ending to denote a family; N.L. fem. pl. n. Bacteriovoracaceae, the Bacteriovorax family.
