Type species: ¤ Asaccharobacter celatus Minamida et al. 2008.
Etymology: Gr. pref. a-, not; Gr. n. saccharon, sugar; N.L. masc. n. bacter, a rod; N.L. masc. n. Asaccharobacter, rod that does not digest sugar.
Valid publication: MINAMIDA (K.), OTA (K.), NISHIMUKAI (M.), TANAKA (M.), ABE (A.), SONE (T.), TOMITA (F.), HARA (H.) and ASANO (K.): Asaccharobacter celatus gen. nov., sp. nov., isolated from rat caecum. Int. J. Syst. Evol. Microbiol., 2008, 58, 1238-1240.
