Type species: ¤ Aminomonas paucivorans Baena et al. 1999.
Etymology: N.L. n. aminum (amino in compound words involving chemicals), amine; L. fem. n. monas, a unit, monad; N.L. fem. n. aminomonas, amine-degrading monads.
Valid publication: BAENA (S.), FARDEAU (M.L.), OLLIVIER (B.), LABAT (M.), THOMAS (P.), GARCIA (J.L.) and PATEL (B.K.C.): Aminomonas paucivorans gen. nov., sp. nov., a mesophilic, anaerobic, amino-acid-utilizing bacterium. Int. J. Syst. Bacteriol, 1999, 49, 975-982.
