Type species: ¤ Allostreptomyces psammosilenae Huang et al. 2017.
Etymology: Gr. adj. allos, another, the other; N.L. masc. n. Streptomyces, an actinobacterial generic name; N.L. masc. n. Allostreptomyces, the other Streptomyces, referring to the fact that the genus is phylogenetically close to Streptomyces.
