Type genus: ¤ Actinomyces Harz 1877 (Approved Lists 1980).
Etymology: N.L. masc. n. Actinomyces, type genus of the order; suff. -ales, ending denoting an order; N.L. fem. pl. n. Actinomycetales, the Actinomyces order.
