Actinaurispora Thawai et al. 2010, gen. nov.
Type species: ¤ Actinaurispora siamensis Thawai et al. 2010.
Etymology: Gr. n. actis actinos, ray; L. n. aurum, gold, the colour of gold; N.L. fem. n. spora, (from Gr. n. spora, seed) a spore; N.L. fem. n. Actinaurispora, ray (fungus) producing orange spores.

Note: Zhu et al. 2012 propose to transfer Actinaurispora siamensis Thawai et al. 2010, the type species of the genus Actinaurispora, to the genus ¤ Plantactinospora as ¤ Plantactinospora siamensis (Thawai et al. 2010) Zhu et al. 2012, comb. nov. According to Rule 37a, bacteriologists adhering to this proposal must change the name Actinaurispora to ¤ Plantactinospora.

Actinaurispora siamensis Thawai et al. 2010, sp. nov. (Type species of the genus.)
Type strain: (see also StrainInfo.net) strain CM2-8 = BCC 34762 = JCM 15677.
Sequence accession no. (16S rRNA gene) for the type strain: AB454379.
Etymology: N.L. fem. adj. siamensis, of or pertaining to Siam, the old name for Thailand, the country of origin of the soil from which the type strain was isolated.
