Type species: ¤ Acidicaldus organivorans corrig. Johnson et al. 2006.
Etymology: N.L. n. acidum (from L. adj. acidus, sour), an acid; L. adj. caldus, warm, hot; N.L. masc. n. Acidicaldus, a (moderately) thermophilic acid-requiring microorganism.
